gathers certain types of information about our users, we feel that you should completely understand the conditions and terms surrounding the gathering and use of information about those using our Sites and services. This Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) describes what information we collect, how we use it, and with whom we share  it.

By visiting a Site, or by using one of our services, you are accepting the practices described in this Policy. We may amend this Policy at any time; if we make changes to this Policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. You are responsible for checking this Policy periodically for changes.  Your continued use of the Site following any changes to this Policy will constitute your acceptance of such changes.  If you disagree with how we may use your information under this Policy, you should not use the Site.

1. Collecting Information

We collect information/data that users provide through registration on our Sites for some services. In addition, we also collect information through tracking systems depending on the service being used by you. The tracking systems include deriving data by tallying page views throughout our Sites and capturing information on the type of browser being used to view the Site, tracking what pages you have visited while on the Site and in market research studies tracking what computers respond to a survey. This information enables us to better provide content and to respond to our users' needs. It also is used to help our advertisers and sponsors to better understand the demographics of our audience (solely on an aggregate basis). As we derive our revenue mainly from advertising on our Sites, it is necessary for us to provide such aggregated demographic data to our sponsors and advertisers; this allows us to keep our services free to you.

* Registration

Some services require user registration. For the registration process, we may require some information, like name, e-mail address, and profession, while other information requested will be voluntary and optional.

* eDigests

All the Sites in our network offer free eDigests to users, providing specific information to them on the appropriate topics. To provide this service, we must gather the e-mail addresses of users who register for and voluntarily subscribe to said service. You may remove yourself from our mailing list at any time by following the instructions provided at the end of every eDigest.

* IntelliPol

Users of the Sites may elect to participate in IntelliPolls that the we run from time to time. These studies are intended to give specific anonymous feedback to third parties. This feedback while shared in the format it was collected will not be shared in manner that is correlated to your personally identifiable information used to pay honoraria for your time. All participants may be disclosed to such third parties by a unique identifier but such identifier will not be associated with any specific feedback. 

* Usage Tracking

We use traffic analysis software on our servers to track user traffic patterns throughout all of our Sites. We use this data to break down overall usage statistics according to IP address, domain name, browser type, and MIME type by reading this information from the data automatically sent by the browser whenever a web page is requested.

* Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that resides only on your own computer and that can be accessed only by the server that originally created the cookie. A cookie cannot store or send back any information to us that you have not specifically and voluntarily provided while on a Site, or that is not among the information mentioned above that is contained in every user's browser (i.e., domain name, browser type). We use cookies only so that we may tally the number of unique users who visit our Sites, and potentially to permit greater personalization of the Site to your preferences and specifications.

2. Use of the information
 
We may use your information for any lawful business purpose, including, but not limited to, corresponding with you, providing announcements, offering or furnishing products and services, personalizing the types of information you receive from us, assessing trends in your use of the Sites, developing content and functionality that helps us better serve your needs, improving the services we provide and engaging in advertising and marketing activities.  We use the above-described information to tailor our content to suit your needs, help our advertisers better understand our audience's demographics and help ensure the integrity of market research studies. This is essential to keeping our service free.  If you provide us information, we or others may use that information to communicate with you by email, telephone or otherwise.  There may be instances where you will have the opportunity to subscribe to an email list that will send information about products or services of our company or other companies to your email address, but this will be done only with your permission and consent, and you can opt-out of receiving future emails by following the instructions below.
 
3.  Sharing of the information 
 
We do not share information about an individual user's identity with any unaffiliated third party except (a) as noted above to the extent you have voluntarily agreed to participate in a market research study, (b) with third parties that assist us in providing our products or services or in responding to your request, (c) as necessary to comply with applicable legal requirements or (d) as otherwise set forth in this Policy.

We reserve the right to disclose, share or otherwise transfer any information to our affiliates or to a third party in connection with a corporate merger, acquisition, consolidation, the sale of substantially all of our assets, or other fundamental corporate change, whatever form it may take.
 
Please note that we do not control the practices of the advertisers on their sites. When you click on links and/or ad banners that take you to third-party web sites, you will be subject to the third parties' privacy policies. We encourage you to read the posted privacy policy statement whenever interacting with any web site. If you have questions about how one of our advertisers uses information about you when you click their ad, visit their site, and view their content, please contact them directly.

Your e-mail address will not be sold to an unaffiliated third party if you sign up for one of our eDigests, IntelliPolls, or register for our Site. If you sign up for an eDigest at one of our Sites, you will receive only the eDigest of the specialty you have requested. You may occasionally receive an offer from us to sign up for a new eDigest, specialty-specific information from one of our advertisers sent on behalf of us, or information about our other services, but you will not receive additional eDigests unless you specifically have requested them.

4. Delete/deactivate policy

Users may unsubscribe to any of our eDigests or discussion lists at any time by following the instructions contained at the end of every eDigest or discussion list, and also on the Site. If you no longer wish to use any services or receive any information from us, you may request to have your personal information removed from our databases by sending a request via e-mail (info@PharmacyTimes.com) or by fax (609-716-4747), including your first and last names and e-mail address with which you originally registered. Changes or corrections to your information may be submitted in the same fashion.

5. Opt-in List Privacy Policy

When you register for our services by giving us your e-mail address, you are prompted to joining an opt-in list, and also set your preferences. This means you will receive information or participate in campaigns relevant to the specialty you selected, whether it is sent directly by us or sent by us on behalf of our advertisers. You may have your e-mail address removed from the our opt-in lists at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions contained at the end of the e-mail you receive.

6. Opting Out of Cookie Serving

We are dedicated to providing privacy on the Internet. In addition to developing this Policy, we have provided you the opportunity to opt out of future ad serving cookies. In order to identify you as someone who has elected to opt out of receiving future cookies from ad serving companies, we will place an opt out cookie on your machine.

7. Security.
 
While we strive to protect your information and privacy, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you disclose online.  We do not make any warranty, express, implied or otherwise, that we will be able to prevent loss, misuse, unauthorized access to, or alteration of information you provide to us.  You make any disclosure of information to us at your own risk.  We urge you to take every precaution to protect your information when you are on the internet, including when visiting the Site.

Our Sites may provide links to third party websites and resources.  Such links are provided as a convenience to you and for informational purposes only.  We are not responsible for and cannot control these third party websites and resources, does not endorse them, and are not responsible for their availability, content, or delivery of services.  Third party websites and resources are not bound by this Policy; they may have their own policies or none at all. We encourage you to read such other third party websites’ privacy policies.
