A Positive Outlook for Payer-Provider Relationships

Neil Pressman, president of Avon, Conn.-based Presscott Associates, LTD., discusses with the American Journal of Managed Care how his health care management consulting firm works to effectively manage reimbursement relationships between payers and providers.

Shared savings programs will give providers the upside while saving downstream costs for the payer.

"In order to create the solution we need to implement in this country in terms of the escalating costs of health care and fragmented care we're experiencing in this country payers and providers need to come to the table to address these issues," Pressman said.
