Download Our "Physicians on Film: Why Medicine Doesn't Pay" Webinar

“The Vanishing Oath” and “Health, Money and Fear” are two documentaries directed by emergency physicians that expose painful and disturbing problems with today's U.S. healthcare system -- and the debilitating effect they have on physicians and the patients they treat.

Click here to download an archive of our live Webinar, featuring Ryan Flesher, MD, director of “The Vanishing Oath,” and Paul Hochfeld, MD, director of “Health, Money and Fear,” who participated in a lively and sometimes controversial discussion about how drug giants, insurance companies, and fear of malpractice lawsuits are driving up healthcare costs and driving doctors out of medicine.

What a piece of crap. You put two idiots that do ER medicine and have no idea of the business of medicine to talk a bunch of non-sense. You guys are not only clueless but are outright doing a disservice to the practice of medicine. Don't waste my time with this nonsense. If you guys want to know where the money is going see the 700 billion dollars that the insurance industry raked last year in profits and operational expenses and the 300 million they dropped in Congress to stop healthcare reform. The double digit rate hikes for 20 years breaking their record profits every single year for decades is unsustainable for this country. They are indeed the 800 pound gorilla in the living room. The two communist buffoons want to "redistribute" payments in medicine. Do they have any clue what they are talking about. Do they know how little we are already making? These idiots can kiss my ass.

I believe that the main benefit of this article is that it keeps dialog going.
Yes the insurance industry is a gorilla, yes the pharmaceutical industry is a gorilla
Yes there is a discrepancy between procedural and the evaluative medicine payments. We don't learn how to win if we wrestle the gorillas right off. we will need early easy victories and we need to frame the questions as well as we can.
the frustration we all feel is evident in the comment by anonymous.
